Getting impatient

I am so desperate to do measurements and photos but I am determined to wait another week. I am so worried that the changes won't be that much, that I want to leave it as long as possible. And I am absolutely going to flog myself for the next week to make sure I am blown away with the change. In particular, I'd really like to see an improvement in my thighs and a hint of some abs would just make my day! I'm definitely feeling different when I wash myself in the shower - not as wobbly which is nice! And I'm fitting into clothes which I haven't worn since before I got pregnant, and fitting into them easily! I'm even back in my size 8 petite super skinny jeans. I couldn't even get them pulled up a couple of months ago!
I'm feeling really positive about the whole challenge still. My stubbornness is holding fast and I haven't eaten a single thing that's not on the plan. And I haven't missed any training days. My unwavering desire to get the body i want is making it pretty easy. Im not going to speak too soon but I'm actually enjoying it. My husband is super supportive and that makes it so much easier. He has absolutely every confidence that I can achieve whatever I want and supports me the whole way.
PT tomorrow morning and I always have that excited/nervous feeling because I can't wait to see what he has planned for me, but worried I won't be able to do it. Wish me luck!

Miracles do happen

So I dragged myself to the gym this morning.

First stop......scales.

To my utter amazement, since my last weigh in 3 weeks ago, I have lost 2.4kg! Unbelievable! Especially considering that I have not been watching my food intake at all for the past 2 weeks. Great news!

Second stop......treadmill.

My plan was to give running a go just to see how my back was. All good there! No problems. I decided to just run easy and see how I'd go - ok, I'm lying. I wanted to see if I could run 5km. And I did! With petrol left in the tank.

Feeling much more positive about everything tonight. Running seems to be back on track which means I can get back into some kind of structured training. I have a PT session tomorrow so I'll see what Michael says and where we go from here.

Things are looking up!

Frustration levels......all time high

I haven't posted for weeks and that's because I have had nothing to report. NOTHING! Basically everything has gone down the drain. The eating plan, the exercise regime, everything. And I'm not happy about it.

To cut a long story short, the eating plan had a really bad effect on my milk supply. I discovered that I wasn't producing nearly enough milk for Matilda and she began waking through the night for feeds. As soon as this happened, the eating plan got thrown out the window. I was always cautious about the effect it would have on my milk (see Nutrition makeover) and exclusively breastfeeding Matilda is definitely my number 1 priority. So the eating plan is no longer and this has a massive effect on my 12 week challenge (12 week challenge). So I've pretty much given up on it for now.

Add to that a back strain I got during my very first PT session. Kettlebells and medicine ball throws during my first session did some real damage to my back and I haven't been able to do anything since! That's almost 3 weeks of ZERO exercise! DISASTER

And........we received an invite to a very good friends wedding in Adelaide and it just happens to be on the same weekend as the 10km Jetty to Jetty run I have entered. Decision to go was a no-brainer (wedding trumps run every time) but that goal has also disappeared before my very eyes.

So that's where I'm at. Back is all good now so I'm back at the gym tomorrow but......

.....no idea what to do from here........

Directionless!

Lost, pointless, scatty, disorganised. This is how I'm feeling about my training at the moment.  I'm still going to the gym every day (almost) but I don't feel like there is any purpose or direction to what I am doing. I pretty much just turn up and do whatever I feel like doing - walking, cycling, rowing, stairs, weights, core strength - with no consistent effort on any of these.  Im pretty sure this approach is not going to get me anywhere!

Im not sure why I'm feeling like this. Perhaps it's because:
1. I get bored easily so just change things up
2. I'm not training for anything in particular
3. Biding my time until I can run again

I suspect it is a combination of these 3 things.  My problem is that running is my number one. It gives me the results I want and in a relatively fast time frame. Without it, I don't really know what to do. And I don't believe that anything else I do will give me the same results in the same time. Please let me know if I'm wrong!

I think it might be time to book in a couple of PT sessions just o get me on track. I'm not necessarily looking for them to write me a weights/cardio program, but rather a 4 week, 8 week, 12 week plan with some goals to achieve. And of course, I'm sure they'll have some great suggestions for keeping me on track.

I'm sure I could probably do all this myself but I think I need the PT there more as motivation. If I know I'm seeing them every week, I will make sure I've done the work. Accountability if you like.
